Fixing “Crashed” Gear

"Crashing" is what occurs when the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in your product fall out of suspension and form visible solid precipitates on the bottom of the vial.

How to fix it #

If your product appears crashed, it can be fixed quite easily. Please follow this procedure:

  1. Boil some water in a pan.
  2. Remove pan from heat.
  3. Put your vial into a Ziploc bag.
  4. Dip the Ziploc bag into the boiling water for a few minutes until the liquid in the vial becomes clear / no more signs of the crashed precipitate.
  5. Safely remove the bag with tongs, then allow to cool.
  6. Store at room temperature, never refrigerate.

DO NOT MICROWAVE the vial at any stage.
If you continue to experience issues obtaining a uniform appearance, please open a ticket with us to discuss.

Frozen Gear Alert #

It's that time of year again! If you ordered oils from us, inspect your vials closely on delivery. If the product does not appear 100% mixed (e.g. some crystals at the bottom), your product has "crashed" while in custody of USPS' frigid mail system.

This is NORMAL, but you will need to re-heat your gear ONCE before initial use to restore the proper mixture.
