Ipamorelin is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue belonging to the ghrelin mimetic class, developed to stimulate the release of growth hormone (GH). It is often described as a selective GHRP due to its targeted action on GH secretion with minimal influence on other hormones such as cortisol or prolactin.
It works by binding to ghrelin receptors and promoting GH release from the pituitary gland, and may act synergistically with growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analogs such as sermorelin or modified GRF 1-29. This combined mechanism enhances GH secretion through complementary pathways involving somatotrope activation and modulation of somatostatin activity.
