Crashed Gear

Here are some photos of "crashed" gear:

"Crashing" occurs due to a low solvent concentration in the formulation. We’ve been working to reduce the amount of solvent (Benzyl Benzoate, Guaiacol and Ethyl Oleate) in our formulations to make 'healthier' blends. It's easy to make some gear "crash proof" -- you see this all the time in commercial pharma. In fact, some preparations are dissolved in 100% Ethyl Oleate! We see this as taking the easy way out. It looks pretty, never crashes, is super thin/easy-to-administer, and *usually* doesn't have any symptoms until 'later', barring patient allergies/sensitivities, which are also common. At any rate, long term consumption of these solvents is not the healthiest idea, so we tend to push for a “less-is-better” approach.

If your product appears crashed, it can be fixed quite easily. Please follow this procedure:

  1. Boil some water in a pan.
  2. Remove pan from heat.
  3. Put your vial into a Ziploc bag.
  4. Dip the Ziploc bag into the boiling water for a few minutes until the liquid in the vial becomes clear.
  5. Safely remove the bag with tongs, then allow to cool.

Whatever you do, please DO NOT MICROWAVE the vial at any stage.
If you continue to experience issues obtaining a uniform appearance, please open a ticket with us to discuss.
