When ever you buy ‘bulk’ powder from IA Super Pharma it will be sent to you in a loose powder form sealed in a pure nitrogen environment. There are two methods for rebottling the powder into usable formats.
Is the home ‘kitchen top’ method of simply measuring out the desired amount of powder with a scoop (made to measure by making a scoop your self that holds the exact mg or powder you desire in each vial relative to preferred dose and quantities) and simply sealing and capping the vial and storing in the freezer until ready to be reactivated with sterile water.
To measure out the powder required per vile, lets use HGH as an example:
If you ordered 1 gram of HGH bulk powder you will receive a pouch with between 10g and 14g total powder weight – why is this you ask? Because the 10-14g contains the 1g of HGH but evenly dispersed through the mannitol salt that is used as the lattice work binder for the rehydration and freeze drying process known as ‘lyophilisation’.
So we know that each 10iu vial equates to 3.7mg of HGH but there is also the additional weight of the mannitol to take into consideration. 1000mg of HGH powder will have at least 10,000mg of mannitol salt added to it so we need to add the mannitol weight in with the 3.7mg dosage required. So 1000mg divided by 3.7mg is 270 10iu vials but there is also an additional 37mg of mannitol to add to the vial giving a total weight of 40.7mg.
The formula is 1000mg divided by 3.7mg = 270 vials then 10,000mg (or the total weight of the mannitol sine some customers prefer more or less mannitol per order) divided by 270 vials is 37mg. Then add the 3.7mg and you have a total vial powder weight of 40.7mg. You then need a microgram scale to measure out 40.7mg and make a small scoop that holds this weight. I used to make a tin foil scoop to hold the powder weight required and it was very effective.
With this formula you can double or triple the amount of powder in a vial so you save time rebottling and also get 3 x more doses out of the vial – this method allows you to control and measure out any dose you require.
You then simply scoop from the bulk powder bag to the vials and cap and seal. It is recommended that a mask, gloves and hair net are used during this process. With this method, its a quick and easy way of handling a large mount of peptide powder in a very economical way – most of our bulk powder buyers use this method and some take it one stage further to suck the air out of the vials before being sealed and capped – this will then give the vacuum effect we all like when we put in the sterile water. A small vacuum pump with a sterile needle attached to the end of the airline and inserted into the rubber stopper on the vial is all thats required. Utilising this method ensures high profit on reselling the bulk powder in ready to use vials and the profit margins are triple the buy price but customers need to get used to the fact that the powder is loose and not hard frozen in the vials.
The second method is a laboratory based lyophilisation process that requires significant capitol investment and professional clinical skills to produce the hard freeze dried powder vials we are familiar with:
Pharmaceutical companies often use freeze-drying to increase the shelf life of the products, such as live virus vaccines, biologics and other injectables. By removing the water from the material and sealing the material in a glass vial, the material can be easily stored, shipped, and later reconstituted to its original form for injection. Another example from the pharmaceutical industry is the use of freeze drying to produce tablets or wafers, the advantage of which is less excipient as well as a rapidly absorbed and easily administered dosage form.
Freeze-dried pharmaceutical products are produced as lyophilized powders for reconstitution in vials and more recently in prefilled syringes for self-administration by a patient. Many biopharmaceutical products based on therapeutic proteins such as monoclonal antibodies require lyophilization for stability. Examples of lyophilized biopharmaceuticals include blockbuster drugs such as Etanercept (Enbrel by Pfizer), Infliximab (Remicade by Janssen Biotech), Rituximab and Trastuzumab (Herceptin by Genentech).
Freeze-drying is also used in manufacturing of raw materials for pharmaceutical products. Active Pharmaceutical Product Ingredients (APIs) are lyophilized to achieve chemical stability under room temperature storage. As a comparison between techniques blood serum tests were completed on a bulk HGH powder batch where 50% was hand filled and sealed and the remaining 50% was lyophilised. 10iu (3.7mg) was injected sub q 2.5 hours before blood was taken for analysis. The results provided an average reading (12 individuals in the study) of 33.2 ng/ml for the lyophilisation processed vials and 31.7 ng/ml for the kitchen top method.
